The Oppressors
The Oppressors are a product of a failed experiment by the Crimson Empire.
They opened a portal to the Netherworld hoping to revive their relatives; however
the spirits beyond the portal haunted their people. They corrupted everyone they
touched and became filled with hatred. The Oppressors, looking for retribution,
set out bounties to kill the Duma upper class and cripple the Crimson Empire.
Gladiators and Executioners became so addicted to these killings, that they executed
Maggots from their ranks after the Duma were in decline. In less turbulent times,
they made slaves out of their Maggots to drive the economy. Eventually the
Maggots died but this way they could torture them before meeting the final axe,
adding insult to injury. Soon, this tyrannical slave regime proved to a good way
to entertain the people while fueling a thriving economy.
